Joel M. Koblentz is nationally recognized for resolving our clients’ most sensitive, critical, and confidential leadership and governance challenges. He advises publicly traded companies, private equity concerns, and family offices globally.

Over the past three decades, Joel has successfully led numerous high-profile board of directors recruitments, CEO successions, and the recruitment of CEOs for a wide range of clients. He is engaged to conduct “sensitive matter” Board of Directors examinations, recommending improvement on board governance practices. Joel has authored numerous articles on boards and leadership for notable publications and is sought out for his views and “inside the boardroom” insights.

Previously, Mr. Koblentz was a Senior Partner at Egon Zehnder, a leading global executive search and board of director’s consultancy, where he served as the Managing Partner of its New York and Atlanta practices and led its Service Sector Practice Group for the Americas.

As a board member, Joel was Chairman of the Compensation Committee of GoTo Foods (formerly Focus Brands), a leading restaurant group. He also served on the board of In Q Tel, the CIA’s venture capital fund, as a board member for the National Association of Corporate Directors, and as President of the Association of Corporate Growth in Atlanta.

His community activities have centered on education, the arts, and healthcare, having assisted many not-for-profit organizations in structuring their boards, governance effectiveness and recruitment of leadership. Previously, Joel chaired Emory University’s Center for Ethics and its governance committee, He served as a Trustee of the Chick-fil-A Bowl Foundation, and on the board of Councilors for The Carter Center. He also was a board director of Junior Achievement, Atlanta’s High Museum, Central Atlanta Progress, The Latin American Association and ZooAtlanta.
